ChocFest reignited Bournville’s historic connection with Ghana, the cocoa supplier for Cadbury chocolates. From pod to bar, the project aims to grow people’s awareness of the chocolate trades and their ethical consumer power.

Commissioned by the Birmingham based theatre company The Bone Ensemble, I served two roles in this project. As community engagement artist, I facilitated an art workshop, real-time connecting two primary school pupils in UK and Ghana. This exchange enabled cross-boundary collaboration on site-specific and cocoa-themed activities. During the ChocFest weekend, I facilitated a co-creation workshop where participants built a model village representing the communities of Bournville and Ghana. We constructed a symbolic bridge between the two places and then 3D scanned the model using Polycam to share the collaborative artwork online with both communities.

My other role in the project was graphic design, I created the visual identity, marketing materials, and illustrated vector artwork.
